It is with great pleasure and excitement that we invite you to the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health Conference to be held in Adelaide, South Australia on 10-13 October 2012. The Conference theme “Keeping the Infant in Mind: Cherishing, Connecting and Containing” reflects the focus of AAIMHI’s philosophy of keeping the infant central, and reminding us of Winnicot’s famous words “There is no such thing as a baby, only a baby and another.”

Our International Speakers, Dr Amanda Jones from the UK, Professor Barry Lester from the US, Professor Carlo Schuengel from the Netherlands and Professor Charley Zeanah from the US ensure that we will be exploring the ideas in our theme. We invite you to be involved in the stimulating presentations and discussions that will ensue, so that we do continue to carry out the important work of “Keeping the Infant in Mind”.

We welcome you to Adelaide for what promises to be a rich scientific program, balanced with the opportunity to enjoy South Australia’s many attractions. The 2012 conference is being held next to the beautiful Glenelg beach, a short 11km or 20 minute tram ride from the CBD
