The International Society for Hypertension is meeting in Sydney in 2012.

Australian researchers have made significant contributions to our understanding of the development of blood pressure regulation and how growth in utero can influence one’s risk of hypertension.

The Australian Early Origins of Hypertension Workshop will recognise the outstanding contributions of Professors Caroline McMillen and Eugenie Lumbers over their long and productive careers. Each will give a key note address and the themes of the meeting align with their research interests. Advances in our understanding within these themes will be discussed by national and international experts.

Professors McMillen and Lumbers have been strong supporters of the development of early career researchers.

In this spirit, early career researchers will be eligible for poster prizes and all attendees will be invited to participate in the satellite meetingthrough poster presentation of their work in developmental physiology.
